When standard pallets stop working
A custom wood pallet usually makes sense when a standard 48x40 simply doesn’t work. If your product is oversized, unusually heavy, irregularly shaped, or needs to work within tight equipment tolerances, a custom build usually makes sense.
Custom pallets are worth considering when:
Your product shifts, tips, or arrives damaged on a standard 48x40
Your racking, conveyor, or trailer configuration requires specific dimensions
Your product exceeds standard weight limits or has an unusual footprint
You’re running automated systems with tight dimensional tolerances
You need a pallet built around how your product is handled, not just how it’s stored

Custom pallet material options:
new, combo, or remanufactured

All new wood
Maximum consistency, no prior
use history
Built entirely from fresh lumber — no unknowns, no prior use
Right call when appearance, compliance, or regulatory requirements apply
Heat treatment available for export

Combination (combo) pallets
Cost-effective, fully functional
Built using a mix of new stringers and recycled deck boards, or vice versa
Meets most strength and spec requirements at a lower cost than all-new
Good fit when spec and strength matter but the application doesn’t require virgin lumber throughout
See our
Recycled Pallets page for how recycled wood is graded and selected

Remanufactured pallets
Most cost-effective custom option
Built entirely from reclaimed pallet components salvaged from used pallets
Fully dismantled and rebuilt to your custom spec — not simply repaired
Best for non-critical applications where cost is the priority
Size options are somewhat limited by available reclaimed component lengths — not every dimension is achievable
More sustainable than new or combo; good fit for one-way shipments
Need pallets for export? Heat treatment is available on any custom build and meets ISPM-15 standards.
See our
Heat Treated Pallets page for details.

Commercial light fixtures & signage —
Long or wide products that need a wider base and reinforced deck boards
Industrial & manufacturing equipment —
Heavy loads requiring hardwood construction, extra deck boards, or custom block configurations
Arcade games & specialty retail goods —
Tall or top-heavy products that need a wider stance for stability in transit
If your product doesn’t sit right on a standard pallet, there’s a good chance we’ve dealt with something similar.

Common reasons businesses order custom pallets

My product doesn’t fit a standard 48x40.
That's the most common reason to go custom. Send us your dimensions and we'll design a pallet that works with your product.

I need to handle a heavy or unusual load.
Tell us the weight and how it's distributed. We build to whatever rating your load requires, including extra reinforcement when the design calls for it.

I need pallets that work with my racking or automation.
Share your dimensional tolerances and clearance requirements upfront. We account for your equipment and warehouse layout in the design.

I’m not sure what I need yet.
Send us what you have — dimensions, photos, a spec sheet, or just a description. We’ll ask the right questions and go from there.

Still not sure if custom is right?
Describe your product and we'll figure it out together
How to order custom pallets in Central Florida

Step 1: Send us your specs
Send whatever you have — CAD files, a spec sheet, photos, or rough dimensions. If you’re starting from scratch, dimensions and a quick description of the product are enough. We’ll ask the right questions from there.

Step 2: We recommend the right build
We factor in product weight, loading method, storage layout, and handling equipment. You’ll get a recommendation and a quote based on what your product actually needs — not a generic configuration.

Step 3: We build a sample for your review
We build a sample before you commit to a full order — delivered to your facility when possible, or documented in detail with photos when not. Most suppliers skip this step entirely. We don’t — and we don’t charge for it.
Because a pallet that doesn’t work costs everyone more to fix after the fact.

Step 4: We deliver on your schedule
Once the design is approved, we build and deliver on a schedule that works for your business — recurring deliveries, a one-time shipment, or a drop trailer staged on-site so you can pull pallets as needed. Pickup from our facility is available too.
Common questions from custom pallet buyers
Where can I get custom wood pallets built to spec in Orlando or Central Florida?
The Pallet Pro builds custom wood pallets for businesses throughout Orlando and Central Florida. We take care of everything from design through delivery — including a sample review before you commit. Call or use the quote form to get started.
What counts as a custom pallet?
Any pallet that doesn’t match standard 48x40 GMA specifications. That includes non-standard dimensions, different board counts or spacing, heavier load ratings, winged decks, extra stringers, or any configuration built specifically around your product or application.
What sizes can you build?
We build to whatever your product and application require. If you have specific length, width, or height constraints, share them when you reach out and we’ll design around them.
How much do custom pallets cost?
Pricing is based primarily on dimensions and materials — how much lumber the build requires and which material type you choose. Remanufactured pallets are the most cost-effective, followed by combo, then all-new. Get in touch with your specs and we’ll get back to you with a quote.
What’s the difference between a remanufactured pallet and a reconditioned pallet?
A reconditioned pallet is an existing pallet that’s been repaired in its original configuration — broken boards replaced, stringers patched. A remanufactured pallet is fully dismantled and rebuilt from scratch using reclaimed components, which means it can be built to a custom size rather than just restored to its original dimensions.
What load capacities can you build to?
We build to whatever your product requires. Tell us the weight and how it’s distributed — we’ll figure out the right build from there.
Can you build custom pallets for heavy industrial loads?
Yes. For heavy or demanding applications we build with hardwood stringers, additional deck boards, and reinforced configurations rated for the load. Tell us what you’re moving and we’ll spec it correctly.
What do I need to send to get a quote?
Whatever you have. CAD files, a spec sheet, photos, or rough dimensions all work. If you’re not sure where to start, send the dimensions and a quick description of the product — we’ll take it from there.
Do you build a sample before committing to a full order?
Often, yes. For most custom builds we’ll build a sample so you can confirm the design works before you commit to a full order. Depending on your location, we’ll either deliver it to your facility or send detailed photos for review. There’s no charge for the sample.
Can I reorder the same custom design?
Yes. Once your spec is approved and in production, reorders use the same design. Just let us know how many you need.
What’s the lead time for custom pallets?
Custom pallets are typically ready in 7–10 business days. Call or use the quote form to confirm timing on your order.
Can custom pallets be heat-treated for export?
Yes. Heat-treated custom pallets are available and meet ISPM-15 export standards. See our Heat Treated Pallets page for details.
Do you deliver, or do I need to pick up?
We deliver throughout Orlando and Central Florida on a schedule that works for your business — one-time shipments, recurring deliveries, or drop trailers staged on-site. Pickup is available too if that’s easier.
Can you design pallets around my warehouse layout or racking?
Yes. If you have specific dimensional requirements for racking, conveyors, or automation systems, share them when you reach out and we’ll factor them into the design.
What’s the difference between all-new wood, a combo pallet, and a remanufactured pallet?
All-new wood: Built entirely from fresh lumber. Consistent quality, no prior use history. Right call when appearance, compliance, or regulatory requirements apply.
Combo: New stringers with recycled deck boards, or vice versa. Brings the cost down while still meeting most strength and spec requirements. Good fit when spec matters but virgin lumber throughout isn’t required.
Remanufactured: Built entirely from reclaimed components salvaged from used pallets — fully dismantled and rebuilt to your spec, not just repaired. Most cost-effective option, but size choices are somewhat limited by available reclaimed material. Best for non-critical applications where cost is the priority.
The right choice depends on your application, required spec, and budget. Not sure? Tell us how the pallets will be used and we’ll help you pick.
