When new wood pallets make sense
Most businesses can get by with recycled pallets for everyday shipping and storage.
New wood makes sense when consistency, compliance, or cleanliness can’t be compromised.
You need every pallet to look and perform the same — no variation from order to order
Your product is food, pharma, or anything with strict hygiene or contamination requirements
Your automated systems or racking require tight dimensional tolerances
You’re presenting product to a retailer or end customer and appearance matters
You need pallets no one else has used —
clean wood, no history, straight from the mill

Who typically buys new wood pallets?
New wood pallets are most commonly used when consistency, cleanliness,
compliance, or appearance can’t be left to chance.
Here’s who we typically supply them to.

Food & Beverage
Manufacturers & Distributors
Cleanliness, traceability, and no prior use history make new wood a common choice for food manufacturers and
distributors working under food safety requirements.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturers
Often preferred where prior chemical exposure, mold, odors, and unknown handling history aren’t worth the risk.

Retail & Consumer
Goods Suppliers
Used when pallet appearance affects how products arrive at retailers, distributors, or end customers.

Automated Manufacturing Operations
Consistent pallet dimensions matter for production lines, racking systems, and automated equipment — new wood delivers the same spec every time.

Automotive & Aerospace Manufacturers
Common for heavy, high-value, or irregularly shaped products that require custom specifications and export compliance.

Oversized Product Manufacturers
Used for mattresses, bedding, window coverings, and other products that require
non-standard footprints
and longer lumber lengths.

Government Contractors & Packaging Companies
Often specified when new wood construction and heat treatment are written directly into customer or contract requirements.

Businesses with Recurring
Supply Needs
Ideal for companies that need the same pallet specification delivered reliably week after week

Common questions from new wood pallet buyers
Where can I buy new wood pallets in Orlando?
The Pallet Pro supplies new wood pallets in Orlando and throughout Central Florida. We carry GMA standard 48x40 and build custom sizes. Call or use the quote form to check availability and get pricing.
What makes new wood pallets different from recycled?
No prior use history. Every board comes from fresh lumber — consistent dimensions, no unknown contact, and no repair work. Recycled pallets are graded and functional, but there’s always some variation. New wood eliminates that.
There’s also the hidden structural risk that grading can’t always catch — recycled pallets can carry moisture absorption, loosened fasteners, or internal cracks from previous loads that aren’t visible on inspection. It’s worth the higher cost when consistency, cleanliness, or compliance is part of the requirement.
Are new wood pallets food-safe?
Yes. New wood pallets have no prior use history and no risk of contamination from previous loads — which makes them the right choice for food, pharma, or any application where hygiene matters.
For pharmaceutical companies specifically, pallets previously treated with certain fungicides can develop musty odors that migrate into medications and compromise product integrity — new wood eliminates that risk entirely.
Grade A recycled pallets can work for secondary food packaging (boxed or bagged goods) when heat-treated and inspected, but are not suitable for direct food contact. Grade B pallets aren’t recommended for any food application. When in doubt, new wood is the safest call.
Can new wood pallets be heat treated for export?
Yes. New wood pallets are eligible for ISPM-15 heat treatment and are the right starting point for export compliance. We work with a certified treatment facility. Every treated pallet leaves with an official HT stamp. See our Heat Treated Pallets page for full details on the process and what the stamp means.
What’s the load capacity for a new wood 48x40 pallet?
GMA standard 48x40 new wood pallets are rated for a minimum of 2,500 lbs and can support up to 4,600 lbs depending on lumber grade.
How is new wood pricing different from recycled?
New wood costs more than recycled — you’re paying for consistency and a clean use history. The gap varies based on lumber markets and order volume.
If cost is the primary driver and your application doesn’t require new wood, Grade A or Grade B recycled pallets may be a better fit. Get in touch and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Do you deliver new wood pallets, or do I need to pick up?
We deliver throughout Orlando and Central Florida — one-time shipments, recurring deliveries, or drop trailers staged on-site. Pickup from our facility is available too if that’s easier.
Can I get new wood pallets in a custom size?
Yes. If 48x40 doesn’t fit your product or equipment, we build custom sizes from all-new lumber. Lead time on custom builds is typically 7–10 business days. See our Custom Pallets page for the full process.
What’s the lead time on new wood pallets?
Lead times vary depending on what we have on hand and the size of your order. Custom builds typically take 7–10 business days. Call or use the quote form to get started.
