Grade A pallets are in better overall condition than Grade B — less wear, cleaner appearance, and more consistent. Grade A is the better fit when condition matters. Grade B pallets show more visible wear but are fully functional for standard shipping and storage, and are the most affordable option.

They’re the same thing. Recycled pallets, used pallets, used wood pallets, refurbished pallets, reconditioned pallets, and repaired pallets are all terms for the same product — previously used wood pallets that have been inspected and repaired for reuse. The terms are used interchangeably in the industry.

Grade A recycled pallets can work for some food service operations depending on what your end client requires and what standards apply. They're generally used to support secondary packaging — boxed or bagged food — but aren't suitable for direct contact with food. Grade B pallets are not recommended for any food use. If strict food safety compliance is required, new wood pallets are the more reliable choice.

A reman pallet is built from scratch using reclaimed wood sourced from other used pallets — not repaired and reused like a standard recycled pallet. The reclaimed wood is inspected before the build, which gives you more consistency than standard recycled. Size options are limited by the reclaimed material available.

A combo pallet is typically built with new wood stringers paired with recycled deck boards. The new stringers give you structural strength and a cleaner look; the recycled boards keep the cost below all-new. More durable than standard recycled, less expensive than all-new wood.

The most common size for recycled pallets is 48x40 — it’s what we carry most consistently. Other sizes including 48x48, 42x42, and 36x36 may be available depending on what we have on hand. Not always. Grading terminology is common across the pallet industry, but there’s no enforced national standard for what each grade means. A pallet one supplier calls Grade A may be what another calls Grade B — not because either is wrong, but because grading criteria vary between pallet suppliers. 

Buyers and suppliers don’t always realize they’re working from different assumptions until there’s a mismatch in what was ordered and what arrived.
